Since I was a child I have always dabbled in some form of art - painting,  stitchery, enamels, silver jewelry, and about thirty years ago I rediscovered photography. All of this time I was working as a social work therapist and raising three children. I became very involved in the darkroom, both color and black and white. And then I discovered photoshop - a new world of creativity emerged combining art, collage, photographs and text - printed digitally on watercolor paper.  I had been taking photographs for many years when I discovered a unique ability to utilize them in creating photo collages. Working on the computer, I combine my pictures with other art forms and texts, building complex “digital mixed media.”

People have noted a painterly quality to my work. This is primarily created by layering many images of varying transparency, giving the illusion of depth. Through stratification and the use of bold color, viewers can penetrate the many levels of complex symbolism.
